If you will install your Model 590 or ProKit 590 in a non-horizontal orientation, the carriage will fall or slide down by itself due to gravity. This drag break adds finite control of the carriage reaction to gravity. When set correctly, the carriage will hold its vertical position when let go.
Note: This add-on cannot be retrofitted; it must be added with original 590 purchase.
